Your Expectations are History

Here’s a sneak peek at what our days will look like:

Day 1: Welcome to Cairo!

April 14

  • Arrival in Cairo: I’ll be there to greet you as you arrive at Cairo International Airport. We’ll get you settled into our hotel in Giza, which has one of the best views of the Pyramids. Take some time to rest up after your flight.
  • Late Afternoon: We’ll kick things off with a welcome meeting at the hotel, where I’ll go over the trip details and answer any questions you might have.
  • Evening: After the meeting, we’ll head out for a welcome dinner at Zeeyara Pyramids Elite, where we’ll enjoy delicious food paired with an incredible evening view of the Pyramids—an unforgettable start to our journey.

April 15

  • Morning: We’ll kick off with a visit to the new Grand Egyptian Museum, where you’ll see treasures that have never been displayed before.
  • Afternoon: Then we’ll dive into Old Cairo’s diverse history, stopping by the Religions Complex and the vibrant Khan El Khalili market. We’ll grab lunch at one of my favorite restaurants in the area and one of the oldest in the city.
  • Evening: We’ll head back to the hotel and have some free time to explore more, experience Cairo’s nightlife, or enjoy a relaxed evening.

April 16

  • Morning: We’ll start our day early visiting the iconic Pyramids of Giza. Even if you’ve seen photos a thousand times, nothing compares to standing there in person. My sister will be our guide, bringing the ancient history to life.
  • Afternoon: After lunch at 9 Pyramids Lounge, we’ll head to Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid—the precursor to all the pyramids that followed.
  • Evening: Relax at the hotel and get ready for a very early wakeup call.

April 17

  • Very Early Morning: We’ll catch an early flight to Abu Simbel, with a quick 30-minute layover in Aswan. This will help us arrive at Abu Simbel Temples before the crowds and the desert heat, giving us a chance to explore this breathtaking site in a more comfortable setting.
  • Morning: We’ll have around three hours to admire the temples and take in the serene surroundings before getting lunch and heading back to Aswan.
  • Afternoon: After returning to Aswan, we’ll transfer to our Nubian homestay by the Nile. Aswan is one of the most welcoming and charming places I’ve ever experienced. It’s the kind of place that makes you say, “I could totally see myself living here.”
  • Evening: We’ll enjoy a Nubian dinner with our hosts and unwind with some great conversations and Nubian music by the Nile.

April 18

  • Morning: After a traditional hearty breakfast at the homestay, we’ll visit some of Aswan’s most famous landmarks, including the High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk, and Philae Temple.
  • Afternoon: We’ll then board our Nile Cruise, where we’ll be staying for the next 3 nights. It’s a perfect chance to relax on deck, enjoy the river views.
  • Evening: Dinner on the cruise will be served as we begin sailing towards Kom Ombo. Take in the views as we drift along the Nile—it’s one of those pinch-me moments that feels surreal.

April 19

  • Morning: We’ll stop at Kom Ombo Temple, dedicated to two gods—Sobek and Horus. This is one my favorite temples in Egypt due to it’s proximity to the Nile. It’s a unique site because it’s symmetrical, and my sister can explain all the reasons why!
  • Afternoon: After lunch, we’ll sail to Edfu and visit the Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Then we’ll continue sailing towards Luxor.
  • Evening: Take some time to relax, read a book, or chat over tea as we enjoy another beautiful night on the Nile.

April 20

  • Morning: We’ll start the day on the West Bank of Luxor, visiting some of Egypt’s most iconic and powerful sites:

    • Valley of the Kings & Queens: Explore the ancient tombs of Egypt’s greatest pharaohs and queens, where history comes to life through stunning hieroglyphs and beautifully preserved murals.
    • El Deir El Bahari: Marvel at the impressive Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s most remarkable female rulers.
    • Colossi of Memnon: Stand before the towering twin statues that have guarded Luxor for centuries.
  • After Lunch: On the East Bank, we’ll visit two of Egypt’s most famous temples:

    • Karnak Temple: Walk through the awe-inspiring Hypostyle Hall and experience the grandeur of ancient Egypt’s largest religious complex.
    • Luxor Temple: Soak in the history of this stunning temple, which holds incredible significance to ancient Egyptian culture.
  • Evening: We’ll have our final dinner onboard the Nile cruise, followed by a special belly dance performance to celebrate our journey. It’s the perfect way to end an unforgettable day.

April 21

  • Morning: After breakfast, we’ll check out from the Nile cruise and head to west bank of the Nile for a chance to experience rural life in Egypt.

  • Day: We’ll explore some of the nearby temples at a relaxed pace, giving you the chance to take it all in without the rush of larger groups. The rest of the day will be spent getting to know the locals, hearing their stories, and experiencing a more personal side of Egyptian culture.

  • Evening: We’ll gather for a delicious, home-cooked dinner prepared by our hosts at the farm, giving us a cozy and authentic end to a day of cultural immersion.

April 22

  • Early Morning: Optional Experience: If you’re an early riser, join us for a sunrise hot air balloon ride over Luxor. It’s an incredible way to start the day with breathtaking views of the Nile Valley.
  • Morning: We’ll have a leisurely breakfast, then pack up and head to Hurghada on the Red Sea coast (3.5 hour drive).
  • Afternoon: Check in at Fort Arabesque Resort. The rest of the day is yours to relax by the beach, enjoy the pool, or explore the resort.
  • Evening: Casual dinner at the resort and a chance to unwind after our journey.

April 23

  • Morning: After breakfast we’ll head out for a boat day trip to Orange Bay, one of the most beautiful spots along the Red Sea coast. The crystal-clear waters and white sandy beaches make it a perfect place to relax and soak up the sun.
  • Midday: We’ll enjoy a delicious lunch right on the beach, surrounded by stunning views.
  • Afternoon: After lunch, we’ll set off for some dolphin watching—an unforgettable experience that gives you the chance to see these amazing creatures up close and get a chance to snorkel among them.
  • Evening: Return to our resort in Hurghada and unwind before gathering for our final dinner as a group.

April 24

  • Morning:  After breakfast, we’ll check out from the hotel. Whether you’re heading to the airport or staying on a bit longer, I’ll be there to wish you a safe journey or help with any last-minute plans.
